Friends will be creating musical instruments from nature and/or recycled materials. We will learn basic music songs to use our instruments and making music videos to show off our instrumental and performing skills.
From the Earth
This week we will be discovering what amazing things can come from the earth. We will be working to make natural dyes, sprays, lip balm and other personal products, beautiful crafts, and much more! Let’s learn to enjoy what mother nature has given us!
In our backyard
We will be learning about backyard habitats and the wonderful creatures we can support just in our back yard. We will make butterfly mud pies, and we are hoping to either make birdhouses and/or bee homes. We will learn native plants that are great to plant in our backyards to support the important pollinators in our area. We will even grow some to take home to start our own backyard habitats.
Play it out
We will be playing fun games to learn about and practice our skills of acting. The group will work together to put on a short play. We will have actors, stage hands, and backdrop designers. We will perform on the last day at the Amphitheater (weather depending) or at the Armory.
Who loves furry friends! We do! This week we will be taking on a service project to raise money for a local animal shelter or organization. We will work together to plan, market, and set up an animal wash fundraiser. We are hoping to have furry friends visit us through the week and learn how to not only wash them but how to take care of them. We may even make treats and toys to sell for/accept donations for our charity.😊
Come join us as we visit Spain! We will learn basic vocabulary, conversational words, and enjoy Spanish foods, crafts and activities. At the end of the week, we will have a fiesta!
Let’s discover different dishes we can make using our fruit and vegetable garden! We will be using different cooking tools and enjoying what yummy summer treats we can make!
Kids on Camera
This week we will have fun creating a variety of videos. From How to videos to commercials, it will be fun to see the cool and crazy things we can come up with.
****We are hoping to set up mini trips to businesses within walking distance and swimming at the YMCA. We will definitely be visiting Ft. Thomas Ice cream throughout the summer (dates not set yet).
